Info about Greeting Cards
Dogs, Cats and Greeting Cards
Greetings cards showing dogs getting up to all sorts of tricks are becoming available from several websites. English bull terrier Christmas cards show 'bullies' performing various feats. Some are handmade, some are silk-screen printed and some are more along the lines of cartoons.
There are two types of card available: one is for dog-lovers to send to their dog-lover friends; the other is for doggie people to send to their pets.
They are not exclusively for Christmas, either. We have seen birthday cards, get well cards and miscellaneous greetings cards. Cards featuring the English bull terrier can be exchanged for Hallow E'en, Father's Day, Mother's Day or simply to say thank you.
Nor are they exclusively for bull terriers. These crazy cards are available for numerous other breeds and cross breeds, as well as for cats and horses.
If you own an English bull terrier, why not send seasonal greetings that show how much you love your 'bully'. One UK firm is currently doing a nice line in bull terrier note cards and memo cards for the office.
But if you want to feature your own pet on the card, you will want to make sure the animal is well-groomed.
Pet grooming is something cat and dog owners should practise on a regular basis, particularly if the pet is long-haired. It is only by frequent brushing that burrs, ticks and other unwanted objects can be removed.
Also, when the pet is being groomed potential health problems can be picked up. If the animal flinches, growls or shows its teeth when a part of its anatomy is touched, then the obvious conclusion must be that there is a problem in that region of its body. Particularly if it has not reacted in that way before.
Head-shaking could be a sign of ear infection, to which certain breeds of dog are prone; namely, spaniels, Labradors, Basset Hounds, pekes and poodles.
Long-haired cats with hairy ears can also display these problems. Look out for signs of irritability, say vets. Always be suspicious of redness or swelling of the ear and/or a smelly discharge. When ear mites are present, a black discharge results. This consists of earwax, blood and the mites themselves.
Don't ignore a problem like this, say the experts, because it is eminently treatable by the vet.
